good but could have been better
We had loved the ambience of the hotel and the warm hospitality of the staff as we arrived late night. The check-in process was rather quick, which we really appreciated. Excellent location near to Orchard and Botanic Gardens We liked that the room was clean and tidy, and the decor chic and was modern.
However, we soon found the shower hose leaking and the TV remote control in the room isn't working. For the amount of money that we paid for a 4-Star hotel under the Shangri-La, I must say we were unpleasantly surprised. After we called to request for the room to be made up, it took over an hour to have it ready for us to return to rest comfortably. And it was after we saw the housekeeper in the hallway and made the request to her in person. The lapse in communication appears to be something you should look into. The other thing we found unpleasant was walking through the corridor reeking of cigarette smell from the lift to our room on the 7th floor. While we understand it is not easy to control the behavior of the hotel guests, I am sure there can be better ways to manage them besides implementing hefty fines and using heavy duty air-fresheners.
